Patricia Newton—Featured Artist

Gallery at Marina Square Presents Our Featured Artist Exhibit for August 2010: “Taking Center Stage”

A Featured Artist Reception will be held Friday, August 13th, from 5-8pm at Gallery at Marina Square

Patricia Newton is opening her exhibition of oil paintings with her show “Taking Center Stage.”

Patricia has painted in oil for approximately 30 years and resides on the Central Coast of California. Patricia’s style is representational, utilizing a glazing technique by brushing on several thin layers of oil paint that lend a translucent effect and emanates light to her subjects. Her use of color and dimension are reflective of realism. An award winning artist, Patricia Newton has always been intrigued by the essence of light, luminous color, expression of a face, warm gentle breezes, the smell of citrus or salty air. Patricia’s oil paintings evoke the imagination with her breathtaking skies and seascapes that capture nature’s forces.

Etty Klinger—Guest Artist

Gallery at Marina Square Presents Our Guest Artist Exhibit for August 2010: “Coastal Dreams”

A Special Guest Artist Reception will be held Friday, August 13th, from 5-8pm at Gallery at Marina Square

Etty Klinger is opening her exhibition of watercolors in her show, “Coastal Dream.”

Etty has been painting all her life, but her relocation from New York to California several years ago triggered her love affair with landscape painting. Etty photographs constantly, but generally will use a reference photo as a guide, or a “springboard,” allowing it to remind her of a soft sunset, the rustle of dried grasses, the earthy smell of rain, a quickening breeze. Etty delights in the ever changing skies and rugged coastlines, the majestic hills and vast open spaces... the wild splendor of California’s Central Coast. Her ethereal landscapes are sometimes peaceful, sometimes passionate, but all evoke an emotional response from art and nature enthusiast alike.
