In Kathleen’s own words: “We moved to Los Osos from Iowa in March of 2014, we love the climate and the people. It is such a lovely mix of beauty that surrounds us and it does inspire me. I am an acrylic painter and find the medium allows me to have the most fun and creativity.

I am a graduate of the University of Iowa with a BFA in studio art. My work has been shown in many juried exhibits across the country. I am finding a new path here on the Central Coast.”

Don Doubledee—Guest Artist

Gallery at Marina Square Presents Our Guest Artist Exhibit for January 2015: “Morning Walk”

A Guest Artist Reception will be held Friday, January 9th from 5-8pm at Gallery at Marina Square

Don Doubledee
Don Doubledee has been a resident of Morro Bay for 45 years. He has drawn many pictures of local subjects. The newest series of his “Post Cards of Morro Bay” are color pencil drawings featuring his morning walks along Morro Bay’s Embarcadero Board Walk. The series begins with the piece “Morning Walk” and followed by “Morning Walk Spring.” Other work featured in his show include other “Post cards of Morro Bay,” his “Cats and Dogs” series and some of his “Post Cards from Amsterdam” series.

In Don’s own words:  “My show, ‘Morning Walk’ includes detailed pencil drawings of realistic images of people, animals, architecture and local views.  Also included are artworks with combinations of pencil and photography and some completely abstract images.  I like to mix photo quality images with pencil sketches.  As an architect, I love the abstract and reality of life and of the way life expresses itself to us all.”
